home home on the range

where the elk and the big horn sheep play
where seldom is heard
another human's spoken word
and the skies are both sunny and cloudy in one day

monday april 25, 2011

we pulled into our temporary site
on the national elk refuge
which sits between jackson, wyoming
and grand teton national park

we are way around on the back side
just on the other side of the house in the distance.
the house is called the miller house and
is a small museum/historical location.
it is not open yet.

the dirt road runs along the back of us
and we do get joggers, walkers, and people driving by.

but we are the only people who live out here

it is truly an awesome place to be.

the weather changes constantly,

from cold wind to sun to snow to rain

and then it starts all over again.

we set up in the middle of a small snow shower

which did not last long and

the snow was gone with an hour.

we tried to introduce ourselves to the neighbors,

but they were not too impressed by us.
