not much to post about this week.
saturday, we moved over to gros ventre campground
where we will be until october.
there are only 3 other residents here.
our work schedules are different,
so we don't see much of each other.
while we were packing up to move
i was able to get a couple pictures of the birds in the pond.
because of the rule not allowing anyone on to the refuge,
i was not abe to get as close as i would have liked.
all last year, i tried and tried to get a picture
the blue heron and the trumpeter swans
that hung out on the ponds by the highway leaving town.
i can't believe i had them all to myself here in the little pond
where we lived for 3 weeks.
caught this duck stretching his wings
blue heron and pair of trumpeter swans
the heron was walking across the little island in the pond
right after i took this picture
the blue heron caught a fish
not much else except for working.
caught these two elk on the way home tonight.
they were the last of the herd to cross the road.
our truck really scares the elk and
they run when we get anywhere near them.
these guys were left behind when the others ran across in front of us.
they were trying to decide what to do and where to run.
eventually, they turned around and ran to the trees behind them.
weather has been rainy and cold, with snow in the mountains.
we are a bit like the bears right now.
it's too cold to go out and do much,
so we poke our heads out the door and peek around
then scurry back into the trailer and turn the heater up.
the bears do not have the luxury of having a heater like we do.
snapped these when i looked out the door tonight.
the sun was shining thru the trees
there is just a bit of green starting to peek out on the ground in the middle of alot of winter brown
can't wait for the weather to warm up enough to
feel motivated to get out and wander around.
