with lee and alycyn,
our old neighbors and friends from last year.
first stop was in gros ventre campground
to see if the owls are back nesting in the tree.
doesn't look like they are.
they probably got tired of everyone bothering them last year.
we will keep an eye out for them when we move in.
hopefully, they are still somewhere in the campground
where we can enjoy watching the babies grow.
we did see quite a bit of the elk from the refuge
starting out on their migration north for the summer
this group was trying to work up the nerve
to cross the road.
everytime it looked like they were going to make a run for it,
a car would drive by and spook them again.
next stop was at the moose ponds
on moose-wilson road.
we were excited to find
this mom
and baby
enjoying some quiet time before the
herd of tourists show up next month.
