fire burn and
caldron bubble.
saturday we decided to take a drive up to yellowstone.
we took the grand tour as it is called, which means you take the whole loop
around the park.
it really should be done in more than one day like we did,
but it is doable.
this is the first stop...
the west thumb geyser basin.
this group of geysers sit on the edge of yellowstone lake.
like everywhere throughout the park, you are on a boardwalk that
travels over and around the geysers.
each geyser is beautiful in it's own weird way
some are deep clear blue
some are muddy
some just bubble
some are steamy
one is an awesome deep green
which is rightly named ..
there are also small streams that run out of the geysers to the lake
this one is a color i can't even describe.
there is a geyser in the lake
some people are brave enough to canoe along the shore
this is looking away from the geysers, along the edge of the lake
some of the geysers have dried up
and are now home to flowers
that was the first stop on the tour
next stop
yellowstone falls
