but somebody's got to do it.
this afternoon, while other people were taking their break around the water cooler
talking with their coworkers about what they had planned for the weekend,
i had the rough task of delivering an order up to signal mountain resort which sits right on jackson lake.
the drive up was just awful :-)
i did not have to fight traffic.
i did not have to listen to annoying conversations from adjoining cubicles.
i did not have to look at a pile of work waiting for me to finish it.
i did however, have the road to myself for almost the whole 60 minute ride up & back.
i did listen to the wind with the window down.
i did look at the storm clouds stacking up against the mountains.
and my afternoon break was standing around in a field,
thinking to myself about what an awesome scene i was looking at.....
this pasture sits on the side of the highway and
occasionally, in the off season it will have buffalo or elk hanging around.
it actually belongs to one of the local ranches
and usually has their trail horses grazing in it.
this afternoon when i was on my way back to the office,
i came upon this string of horses walking slowly thru the pasture.
when they made it to the water, they stopped and drank their fill,
then turned around and walked all the way back to the other side.
they obviously are trail horses and probably head out together.
they kept a straight line and when one horse stopped, the ones behind it would stop also.
this was my friday afternoon water cooler conversation.
only no words were spoken.
and instead of heading back to my desk and
looking out a window only to see traffic, people, other buildings and dirty smoggy air...
i turned to head back to my car,
and was blessed to see everything but all of that mess...
