week in review

internet is horrible here in the campground

and i have not been able to update all week.

it has been a pretty average week,

so there isn't much to post anyway.

saturday - attended elk fest

sunday - we met some friends up at signal mountain lodge for lunch.

signal mountain sits on jackson lake.

jackson lake is still frozen.

we found these 4 guys kicking back in the construction area at the entrance to the campground

this little deer needs to pay attention to the signs

attended a bbq for the seasonal employees of the park

courtesy of  the full time park employees.

@200 people were served a great dinner of hamburgers and salads and desserts.

the weather was wonderful, nice and warm.

the day before and after, we had rain, wind, and snow flurries.

i guess we did have a pretty good week after all.

ps. . it is now midnight and has taken me almost 4 hours to post this

because of the internet dropping off over and over.

wyoming's version of rush hour

thursday, on our way to work

we hit quite a bit of heavy duty traffic.

first, it was a jay walking moose.

he came up off the side of the road

and walked right across in front of us
liked he owned the road or something

and kept right on going, never looking back.

around the corner,

it was a pile up of bison.

at least, they kept to themselves and stayed put.

up the road, was the best roadblock i have ever been in -
buffalo and a herd of migrating elk.

please keep in mind when you watch the video

that the truck is very bumpy even tho we were driving very slowly

and that my name is not marianne speilberg or lucas.

at the end, try to catch the last elk turn and

make sure all of his herd is across and safe

before he joins them and they all run off.

in all my years of living in socal and

driving in the never ending traffic,

i've never had such a smile on my face

when i've come to my destination

a few minutes late due to the congestion on the highway.
